International Transgender Day of Visibility is an annual event occurring on March 31 dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide, as well as a celebration of their contributions to society.
There is usually a least one TDoV event in liverpool, TDoV events are generally held on/or near the the 31st of March each year. TDoV is generally considered a celebration of what it is to be trans, and focuses on the positive changes that visibility allows us. Sometimes protests or marches are also held to promote trans rights & liberties.
It should be noted that there can be multiple TDoV events each year and that each event can have its own flavour.
TDoV by Liverpool Trans
Currently hosted by the muesuem of liverpool on albert docks, generally this TDoV event has a few guest speakers, and often has a large number of displays/performances from the under 25 trans community.
It is generally a positive event and seen more as a celebration of what it is to be trans.
