-Spirit Level is a transgender peer-to-peer support group in Liverpool.  It is one of the best non-public 'gateways' to everything trans.  It exists to provide welcoming and supportive environment for trans people who want to chat, socialise and get help with issues they may be facing.  Its meetings revolve around issues people want to discuss and how to create a better environment for trans people in Liverpool: combatting the TERFs and Gender-Critical people, engaging with institutions like the police, NHS, local council and so on.  It has taken on leadership of the Trans Day of Visibility 2023 organising group. After meetings, people generally go to a pub where many one-to-one conversations take place.+

-Spirit Level is a great way of meeting other trans people and making new friends. It is also a great way of discovering yourself.+Its meetings are informal and mostly based around what people want to discuss or ask questions about, discussions on how things can be improved both within the community and in the Liverpool region. It has occasional guest speakers suggested by the members and discussion around particular topics. It is the lead organiser for the Trans Day of Visibility in March each year. After meetings, people generally go to a pub where many one-to-one conversations take place

The group mainly discusses the issues facing the trans community in Liverpool but will happily discuss more personal things like hate crime, access to hormones and other clinical services, feminization and so on.  It is mostly trans-women who attend but is open to transmen and those who are intersex, gender-fluid, -curious or incongruent.
