They are also a very discreet option for those unable to present at home. They provide a selection of clothes, do your make-up and can provide wigs.  For some people a dressing service is a regular monthly experience as it can be kept totally separate to your day life and even done in a different city.  Sessions can last several hours and some offer a 'chaperone' service for you to go shopping or to a restaurant 'en femme'.

+Although not technically a dressing service, Gordon Fawcett is a professional make-up artist who will provide a three hour tutorial on make-up, give you a makeover and then offer to create a photo gallery.  Gordon will provide wigs, you provide the clothes and accessories you want to wear.  It usually costs £50-£60.  Gordon also provides a makeover service at Sparkle, the annual festival for trans people held in Manchester's Gay Village on the 1st weekend in July.
